Measurements for Standard Gowns

 If you are in between two sizes we HIGHLY recommend that you choose the larger of the two which will allow for alterations.  It is easier to take a gown in rather than let it out.

Please note that all of our gowns are made to order.

Please do not assume that your regular clothes size is the same as your gown size, we highly recommend that you measure yourself first and compare your measurements to our size chart to determine the best fit as there are no refunds if you have selected the incorrect size.

Your gown size may be very different to your regular clothes size so please do not just assume that you
are the same as your regular clothes size.
To work out your size simply measure you bust, waist and hips and then compare it to the size chart.

Length = Hollow to Hem for Full Length Dresses (base of neck to floor, with shoes on) Shorter dresses are either a standard short, mid or tea length. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE NOT OF AN AVERAGE HEIGHT (EITHER SHORTER OR TALLER) AND ARE ORDERING A STANDARD SIZEYOU NEED TO LET US KNOW IF YOU REQUIRE A DIFFERENT LENGTH, PLEASE TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THAT IF YOU ARE QUITE SHORT THE STANDARD SIZE MAY ALSO BE TOO LONG IN THE WAIST FOR YOU OR IF YOU ARE TALLER NOT LONG ENOUGH IN THE WAIST. IF YOU REQUIRE THE LENGTH TO BE SHORTER OR LONGER YOU MUST LET US KNOW WHEN ORDERING OTHERWISE THE DRESS WILL BE MADE IN THE STANDARD LENGTH. ** If you require a gown that is larger than a AUS 30 you can purchase a custom gown.                                                                                      Floor Length           Mid /Knee Length           How to take Measurements to work out your Standard Gown Size Bust - Not your bra size! Take the tape around your back and bring it across the fullest part of your bust. Your arms should be relaxed, down at your sides. You must wear a bra when taking this measurement. Waist - This is the smallest part of your waist. Typically it is an inch or so above your belly button. Also known as the natural waistline. Hips - This is the widest part of your hips, across the hipbone. Measurement is taken approximately 7 inches below the natural waistline. Hollow to Hem - Start the tape at the hollow at the base of your neck at the front and measure down to where you want the hem. If you would like a custom size simply email or call us and we will send you a form.  You will then take this form along to a dressmaker or seamstress to have yourself professionally measured.  Once the form is complete simply email it back to us and we will have the gown made to your exact measurements. We highly recommend that you have your measurements taken by a professional dressmaker or seamstress, so that your measurements are exact. This will avoid any disappointment of a gown not fitting you properly. It will be your responsibility to provide us with the correct measurements as these will be used to manufacture your gown. Please note - Gowns that are made from the wrong measurements supplied by you cannot be returned or refunded. TIPS - DO NOT WRAP THE TAPE TOO TIGHTLY AROUND YOU, YOU WANT TO BE COMFORTABLE SO JUST LOOSEN THE TAPE A LITTLE.  DON'T FORGET THAT YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO SIT IN YOUR GOWN! BUST  Not your bra size! BUST POINTS   This is the length between your nipples ARM GIRTH   Relax your arm and measure around the largest part of the upper arm. ARM LENGTH  Start the tape at your shoulder down to your hand. AROUND SHOULDER  This is the measurement around your shoulder. NAPE TO WAIST Measure from the base of the neck at the front down to the Natural Waist.   SHOES ON - TIP YOUR NAPE TO WAIST AND WAIST TO HEM MEASUREMENT MUST EQUAL YOU R HOLLOW TO HEM MEASUREMENT, IF IT DOESN'T ADD UP THE MEASUREMENT HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN CORRECTLY. WAIST TO HEM   Measure from your Natural Waist to where you want the hem to be.  Be sure you’re wearing the same height heel you'll wear on your wedding day.
